Welcome,
Bruce and Gail are both Wyoming born and raised and University of Wyoming Alumni. Bruce is originally from Jackson, where his ancestors homesteaded and his family managed Three Rivers Ranch until it was sold to the Park. Gail grew up in Diamondville, and her family is in the fossil business.

The story of the Blue Chip…Bruce and Gail initially leased the ranch, then known as the “old Rodriguez place” and when it came up for sale, to simplify a long story-- one other person had also made an offer on the place, so the seller put two poker chips in a cowboy hat provided by longtime friend John Stoll; the red chip represented the other buyer and the blue chip represented the Jacobsons. The blue chip was drawn first, thus, Bruce and Gail bought the land and named it The Blue Chip Ranch.

Bruce and Gail have three daughters and have shared their love of animals with them. The oldest, Leigh Kelly and her husband Ian, live in Warren, Pennsylvania with their two dogs, Sadie and Bo. Jill Logan and her husband, Ransom and their daughter, Paisley, live and work on the Arapahoe Ranch in Thermopolis, Wyoming with their numerous dogs, cats, horses, and a few cows. The youngest, Jeri Kay, lives in Fayette, Iowa with her dog Rusty, and is continuing her education at Upper Iowa University and working as a graduate assistant, helping coach the Women’s basketball team.

In addition to standing their stallion , WYO SNAPPER, Bruce and Gail breed and raise registered quarter horses on the Blue Chip.
